Languages – Italian

We are very proud to offer Specialist Italian education as our Language Other Than English (LOTE) program at Edney Primary School.

Year 2 to 6 students learn Italian once a week in the Italian classroom. Our LOTE program follows the Western Australian Curriculum where students are engaged in a variety of activities to support their reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Italian. Integrated through the grammar and vocabulary lessons, students learn about the history of Italy, the culture, and the influence of Italian people in Australia.

Italian language and culture is celebrated across the school on special occasions such as Italian Day, assemblies, Science Week, Book Week, and our end of year Christmas Concert.
